Tobacco Solutions was formed to make it easy for Businesses, Local Councils and NGO's to understand and use the tobacco legislation in Western Australia
Bruce Hawkins founded Tobacco Solutions because he wanted to assist Business Owners, Local Councils and NGO's deal with the tobacco legislatiion in WA.
Dealing with legislation is not easy. Nor is trying to deal with the paperwork confronting a busienss wanting to sell tobacco products. Bruce Hawkins is the right person to help you overcome the dilemma of complying with the legisaltion. Whether this be in regard to making an application for a tobacco licence, staff training on sales to minors, store layout, smoking in enclosed public places or smoking in outdoor eating areas.
He's aslo the right person to help Local Councils train their staff that deal with the legislation as well as helping NGO's that want better legisaltion.
Bruce Hawkins was the Principal Compliance Officer in the Tobacco Control Branch at the Department of Health Western Australia. He was in the Branch for over ten years until he left the Department at the end of September 2017.

He has a detailed knowledge of the Tobacco Products Control Act 2006 and Regulations and how to intepret it.

He conducted all major investigations into breaches of the legisaltion.

He played a major role in the review of the Tobacco Products Control Act 2006 in 2010 and 2011.

He was instrumental in setting up the original tobacco licensing scheme in 2007.

He was integral to the oversite and running of the State-wide compliance program for the Tobacco Control Branch. He has visited hundreds of licensed tobacco outlets throughout the State of WA.

He created and conducted training presentations for Local Councils, State Governemnt Departments, Retail Outlets and a University.

He was the officer who led the acton to stop the sale of electronic cigarettes in WA.
He is now consulting with retail outlets on their obligations and responsibilties in regard to the toabcco legisaltion in WA.
He is also assisting Local Councils and NGO's to better understand the legisaltion, how it affects them and what they can do about it.
